Open Houses Are Back!
What you need to know:
|
Open Houses have been approved to be held in our local market again, with of course a few restrictions to preserve our mutual safety in this new "re-opening" phase. I will be hosting our first Open this weekend!
Sunday, May 23, from 2 to 4 pm
1360 Contra Costa Drive, El Cerrito
(details and photos on this great view house below).
Meantime, I wanted to share the happy news that Open Houses are back -- and explain how this may or may not change your experience if you are buying or shopping for a home. Here's what's happening with seeing property these days:
|
-
Advance Appointment not needed to attend an advertised Open House. Just come at the advertised time, like before.
You may still need an appointment to view a house with your Realtor any other time ...
-
Appointment setting for any other time may still be required at the seller's or listing agent's discretion ... and some homes can ONLY be seen by specific advance appointment.
-
Not every listing is going to be holding Open Houses right away ... people will adjust to changing rules and new norms at their own pace in this, as any, change, as we arrive at whatever will be "our next normal." (Check with me if there's a listing you want to see.)
-
Still Required: at Open houses and Appointment Showings: Masks, sanitizing, and limited number of people in a house at a time.
Social distancing is still required: Be prepared to wait to enter an Open House, if need be, and of course, expect to social distance from anyone not in your own household.
-
Sign-in is required, not optional. We are still required to keep a record of every person who enters a home we have listed, including their contact information. (A simple hand-signed form will be at each Open House ... the sign-ahead PEAD forms aren't required for an Open House, but may still ne required for regular appointments.)
-
Limited Capacity: The hosting agent will need to monitor and limit the number of people inside ... there are not at this time strict number-of-people-per-house standards, as every property will differ in how well visitors can social distance inside. Please understand and be cooperative. We're all figuring out how to get back to normal without disrupting each other's safety and comfort-zones.

Overlooking San Francisco/Golden Gate views, a block from Madera Elementary, this expansive Mid-Century ranch awaits on an 11,200-SF lot. Gleaming hardwood floors grace formal living and dining rooms focused on the view. Seamlessly connected yet tucked to the rear, your fireplaced family room opens to a level patio/play-yard and the open-space island kitchen. Quartz counters stretch seemingly for miles; new gas range, deep stainless sink, silent dishwasher and French-door fridge surround a central island with a second sous-chef prep sink. You decide if it's a breakfast nook or homework station steps away. A pantry closet, coffee-bar-worthy cabinet/counter wall, and laundry/mudroom (open to yard), abound with storage options. Three bedrooms, the primary en suite open to its own backyard deck, and an updated hall bath occupy their own wing. Downstairs: a 2-story 2-car garage with storage loft & surprise bonus space plus half-bath for hobbies, bear's lair, and even more storage.
