Finding the Silver Lining to my Most Dreaded Real Estate Task

I never thought I'd take true pleasure in one of the most dreaded tasks on my to-do list -- asking clients for reviews once we've closed their deal. I don't want to ask my clients to do "one more thing" when, by the time they close, they've been through SO MUCH! But after reaching out and hearing back from clients this summer, I have to say, how enormously gratifying it was to hear what people had to say! Some spoke up even years after we worked together, but still remembered specific challenges and how we overcame them ... and were willing to tell the world how good they feel about it! 
 
Really? Wow, that makes some of the long nights and missed hikes so much more worth it! While we're working, it's easy to feel like we're doing "so much" and then "even more" ... all the while wondering if anybody ever really notices or appreciates the heart and soul we put into  making things "right" for each client. Hearing them tell others, by posting a review, really does matter. I'm enormously grateful to each individual who gave some time and thought back to me ! 
 
And, because this was a bit of a campaign, it is time to report that the winner on the Buyer side is .... Tamar Blue ... for talking about the impact our working together had ... not just on finding a home and making a deal, but also about how working together helped her and husband Stonly, newlyweds at the time, really look ahead into their lives and goals and make decisions with me that they knew would impact their future and their family-in-the- making. Because, isn't "life" really what we are working on when we buy and sell and move with real estate? We might THINK it's just a transaction, just a deal, and it's over when it's over. I'm inspired to have Tamar remind us that what we do here impacts our Lives. And that matters -- even years later.

And, on the seller side, the winner is Lisa Laidlaw, for "'fessing up" about a few curve balls we fielded while buttoning up a summer sale, for complimenting me on handling issues "with tact and without judgement" -- that matters a lot to me! -- and for stating we made her family feel like they were our "top priority." I do hope each client feels that way!
